Welcome to the School Nurse Webpage. This service is provided by the Avella Area School District School Nurse to make important health information available to students and parents.
The goal of the School Health Department of the Avella Area School District is to provide the resources to promote the health and well being of each student in our care. Those services include:

Collaboration with parents, school staff and community health agencies.

State required health screenings and examinations of students

Implementation of state health and immunization laws

Maintaining accurate student health records

Treating minor student and staff injuries or illnesses during the school day. (Please note that injuries that occur outside of school should be treated by your family healthcare provider, not the school nurse.)
If your child has a medical condition that the nurse should be aware of please call your child's school and speak to the nurse directly. Mrs. Bakaitis is available to answer questions and address parents' concerns. Call 724-356-2294 extension 5504 if you wish to speak to the nurse.
